Lake St. Clair, Lake Erie, Saginaw Bay, and several inland lakes offer some of the best smallmouth bass fishing anywhere, especially in an urban area.
Fishing takes place from April through December in Michigan. The different seasons provide different fishing opportunities for Michigan fishing trips.
Bass fishing trips from early spring through the spawn are usually very productive, with exciting fishing at this time of year. Many bass are visible and are interested in fishing baits such as super flukes and spinner baits. In addition to bass fishing, the Detroit River also offers opportunities for walleye fishing. Walleye migrate up the Detroit River from Lake Erie in massive numbers in the spring.
