Rebel Fishing Lures

from: Rob Lore

There are some pieces of fishing equipment that are just a must in any angler's tackle box, and Rebel fishing lures are in many angler's tackle box. Rebels was founded in Fort Smith Arkansas in 1961 by George Perrin. The plastic mold injection company began by making small, minnow like plastic fishing lures that would mimic the action of a fish in the water. The name Rebel actually came from the high school football team in Fort Hood that was and still is known as the Rebels.

The minnow like plastic fishing lures were not the mainstay of the company at first but were soon in high demand. Rebel then started making various sizes of the minnow shaped plastic fishing lures. The modern line of Rebel fishing lures includes far more than just the early minnow fishing lures.

Rebel fishing lures now boast saltwater fishing lures, crankbaits, poppers and topwater fishing lures, frogs, crawfish and bug lures. The popular Wee-R series, which are thick, heavy bodied plug style plastic fishing lures can be used in deep water fishing to track that trophy sized bass.

Rebel fishing lures can now be used from a Rebel built bass boat. Some Rebel built bass boats have been highly effective in bass fishing tournaments across the United States.

Tips for Using Rebel Fishing Lures
Kyle Besser
As with any type of fishing tackle, every angler has his or her favorites of the Rebel fishing lures line. Below are some general tips and strategies for using Rebel fishing lures in bass fishing in any type of water:

1. In spring through late fall it is important to remember that big bass will be surface feeding, and the jumping minnow fishing lures, which are one of the premiere Rebel fishing lures provide the topwater action that will attract the big bass. By using a walk the dog or other topwater retrieval method along the top of vegetation lines and cover, large bass will literally run to the surface after the jumping minnow fishing lures. Try to cast the minnow fishing lures about 20 feet beyond where you see the bass rising to the bait. Then draw the minnow fishing lures across the surface. The natural action of the minnow fishing lures plus the retrieval will mimic the action of an injured shad and will bring the aggressive feeding bass to the surface.

2. For trolling for salmon one of the best Rebel fishing lures available is the Fastracs series. These amazingly realistic looking minnow fishing lures with their divided tail section present the most effective method in mimicking baitfish and attract the salmon in any type of water. Fastracs minnow fishing lures come in a variety of sizes and colors to match the salmon's preference. Fastracs minnow fishing lures are ideal for fishing those shallow waters where larger salmon move to in the late summer and early fall seasons.

Rebel fishing lures are very durable and strong. Rebel fishing lures have been proven in tournaments and derbies across North America and around the world. The Rebel fishing lures online store makes shopping from home easy and convenient if you donâ€(tm)t have a sporting goods store or bait shop close by to purchase Rebel fishing lures.
